I made this blanket for my daughter. it’s a lap blanket made with a buffalo plaid inspired theme. Made with 3 colors, Red, Black and Grey. Super soft cotton yarn. Feels like silk . The pattern can be found on my Ravelry page at Rbktjoy
At Yarn-Beauty-Crochet, we love to explore new ideas and different techniques. This blanket was made with a crochet appliqué sewn onto the granny square. So cute, perfect for snuggling a baby new born or a great security blanket for a toddler!! I look forward to hearing from you.
This is a pattern I created myself. The yarn is from Hobby Lobby
Yarn Bee Bamboo-tiful.
I used 5 different colors . I skein of each color = 257 yards each. Lightweight #3 yarn weight.
Hok size - 5.0mm/H-8
this pattern is worked in rounds.
This is a very soft, cool, blanket. That's great for summer.
1st round
Stating with a magic circle chain one st into the circle, Chain two (counts as you first double crochet). Next crochet 2 dc and Chain 2,
next crochet *3 dc and chain 2*
repeat from * to * 2 more times then Sl into the top of your first dc to complete the first round.
You now have four sets of the 3 dc with 2 chains between each.
Beige border after first round. crochet a 3Dc Cl in each chain space. sl st to the top of the first Dc Cl.
2nd round
turn and crochet sc into the chain 2 space then chain 2 ( counts as your first dc). 2 dc in the same chain 2 space and chain 3 then 3 dc in the same chain 2 space then chain 2.
*3dc, chain 3, 3dc in the next chain space, chain 2* repeat from * to * for the next 2 chain 2 spaces then Sl into the first dc to complete the round.
Beige border after first round. crochet a 3Dc Cl in each chain space. sl st to the top of the first Dc Cl.
3rd round
Turn your work and chain one into the chain 2 space the chain 2?(counts as dc) 2 dc in the same chain 2 space, chain 2. 3dc ,chain 3, 3 dc in the next chain space an chain 2. * 3dc in the next chain space and chain 2. 3 dc, chain 3, 3 dc in the next chain space then chain 2*. Repeat from * to * 2 more times then sl into the first dc to Compl rate the round. You now have 4 corners. Continue to do 3 dc and chain 2 for each chain space on the sides and 3 dc, chain 3, 3 dc , chain 2, for each corner.
Depending on how tight your stitches are you should have a total of 15 rounds for the first color. When you have completed your first round , chose to do one round of beige in between each color block. I used the 3dc cluster and chain 3 in each chain 2 space for the sides and for the corners I did, 3 dc cluster, chain 3, 3dc cluster and chain 3.
Rounds 4-7
Next you will begin a new round with a new color. Follow the same pattern with the new color as you did for round 3.
So first color teal - 15 rounds
One round of beige dc clusters
Second color yellow ochre - 7 rounds
One round of beige dc clusters
Third color sage green - 5 rounds
One round of beige dc clusters
Fourth color coral -4 rounds
One round of beige dc clusters
Then I used the remaining beige yarn to make 4 tassels. (optional)That I attached to each corner.
And that’s it. Hope you enjoy the pattern . Happy crocheting!!
